talk about we found honey in the moon

i know this entry kinda lost its sizzles already but whatever la kan. yang penting it's documented untuk dikenang masa masing2 dah tade gigi nanti :)

ok! so we went to Krabi. most of u would've seen the photos in my FB already la kan :)

it was all Mr. Vamp's arrangement but it wasn't like a total surprise thingy la since he knows how i like to be prepared and have a bit of knowledge of the place before travelling anywhere. ye la, nak la tahu mana tempat halal nak makan, their do's & dont's, berapa byk duit nak kena bwk and whatnots kan.

anyway, we bought AA package je since it's the easiest way. few clicks here and there and voila!, we got ourselves this flight & hotel package (4d3n) for RM950. i'm sure we could get a better deal during matta fair or something but mcm larat je nak redah cium bau ketiak ramai2 org tu kan.

honestly i kinda worried about the weather as i read somewhere that the Krabi nye monsoon season was about to start during our trip. sangat tak sexy ok pegi beach time hujan wlupun ada alasan untuk buat aktiviti indoor 24 jam tapi itu bukan budaya kita okkk. dah bayar mahal2 duk dalam bilik baik duk rumah je kan. aktivitinya sama je pun. hah!

tapi alhamdulillah, it's just drizzling for a while on the 2nd day and in the night but the sun still doing its job perfectly during the day. jadinya, panas tapi tak panas sangat. haiyyoo apa tu??? terang tp tak berbahang sangat la, so = gembira! what a perfect weather. so to those yang risau sangat tang kulit jadi hitam, i suggest u go during this time and pls pack sunblock siap2 coz there, that thing is like super expensive.

our flight took 1 & a half hours to reach Krabi airport and another half an hour of taxi ride, kami pun sampai lah ke Ao Nang.


ok. this is the resort where we stayed - Ao Nang Paradise. we liked it very much although it's not beachfront. it's not that far of a walk to the beach either. the resort staffs were super friendly. i remember this girl who helped us with our scooter yang tak mahu hidup di satu pagi yang dingin. sekali minah tu senyum & pusing the 'choke' thingy kat tepi handle tu, terus elok je meraung2 motor tu. agaknya kitorg lupa buat part senyum tu sbb tu tak hidup2. and ada another girl yang bagi saya Eno bila tengok muka berpintal mcm kerepok saya sambil gosok2 perut coz i had too much food, which is MEMANG PUNN!!! heartburn sampai ke otak. pape pun, they're so sincere & innocent they dont even know what is double standard ok. itu saya sendiri rasa la. everybody gets equal treatment which is rarely available in our country. i'm sure resort2 yg lain pun begitu. bukan kah nikmat bercuti mcm tu.


i have to say, Ao Nang is a very clean town. not only the beach was spotless, i didnt even see a piece of trash elsewhere pun except in the bin. tak caya, refer gambar di atas. saya korek hidung sekali je masa kat sana, tu pun tade hasil. serious bersih ok.

wanna know what we did in Krabi?

Day 1 - arrival & sightseeing
Day 2 - island tour & rented scooter
Day 3 - exploring Krabi town & other neighbouring areas
Day 4 - fly back

ok. time to share some tips. pffft.

1. i'm sure many of u, like myself, would wanna know if it's easy to find halal food there. fret not! muslim is the second largest community there so u can find halal food almost at every corner of the place. most of them display halal signage in front of their shop like in the pix below. all u have to do is makan tanpa was-was. and the food, no matter how simple it is.. masyaAllah, sangat sedap okkk! it's a bit expensive if u eat at the restaurant as they follow tourist' price. but let me tell u, tourist price dia, rege lebih kurang mcm makan kat penang village kt sini je pun. the roadside stalls usually offer snack type food like pancake & sandwiches which only costs u average RM2/dish. cheap or what? tak payah nak bekal2 megi bagai. ok now click here for more info.

2. essentially, Ao Nang town is pedestrian-friendly. all the necessities are within walking distance but some interesting places located a bit outskirt. u know, Mr. Vamp is kinda like Indiana Jones meet Sam Chong kinda person at times (most times he's Diana Ross) so he loves exploring and trying new things which i sometimes dare not. like eating bugs and other disgusting stuffs. but we dint do that in Krabi la. punye la banyak makanan sedap nak makan lipas buat apa. anyways, motif sebenar di sini ialah renting motorbike/scooter adalah sangat digalakkan kerana 1) murah, 2) sangat convenient, 3) tak yah penat2 jalan dan 4) tidak memerlukan lesen. and of course with the extra 2 wheels, kita boleh explore byk lagi tpt2 menarik (eg: cultural village, muay thai, stadium, look for massage parlour & tpt 2 makan yg lagi murah). tapi AWAS! u have to be extremely careful not to get into an accident coz if u do, u'll get 50,000B penalty and they only release your passport when full payment is made.

3. when u look for island tour package, try the shop outside the main area as theirs are cheaper. and it's bargain-able! the cheapest island tour package i know is 750B (travel shop near Ao-Nang Seafood St) including hotel pickup, lunch & snacks. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't bother to sit in the front part of the boat, nak feel the wind in the face yada yada tu during the boat ride (those with ginormous ass pun tak terkecuali) coz the possibility of dislocating some back bones is super high.

4. u should try their locally produced snack foods (eg: milo, soybean milk, choc, jajan) that tastes so much better and CHEAPER. but pls check the label before consuming utk mengelakkan segala gejala yang tidak diingini.


5. sunblock is a MUST when it comes to islands & beaches. if u dont mind paying double for it in Krabi, dont bother checking it into your luggage then ;)
